What began as a shared belief that gatherings could create meaningful impact evolved into Comedy for Community, a collaboration between PLZR Studios and RE-GROUP. Building on RE-GROUP’s tradition of encouraging charitable giving in place of gifts, the event reimagined comedy as a catalyst for collective action. In partnership with Sevasphere, an organization serving unhoused communities across Los Angeles, the evening brought together local comedians, community members, and supporters to laugh together while directly contributing to a larger cause.
More than a fundraiser, the experience demonstrated how intentional programming can strengthen both community and compassion. Guests filled the room for a sold-out show, raising funds for Sevasphere while also contributing essential menstrual hygiene products for distribution on Skid Row. Through partnerships with local organizations and mission-aligned brands, the event extended its impact well beyond the evening itself, reinforcing the idea that meaningful experiences can inspire meaningful action.
