Created in collaboration with Aldain of Black Mango Supper Club, Ubuntu was envisioned as an immersive gathering celebrating Black creativity, storytelling, and community. Bringing together filmmakers, authors, musicians, poets, chefs, and local brands, the evening transformed the studio into a space where art became a catalyst for conversation and connection. Through film excerpts, spoken word, intimate visual installations, and a thoughtfully curated dining experience, guests were invited to engage with Black culture in ways that felt personal, reflective, and deeply human.
Rather than presenting individual performances in isolation, Ubuntu wove each contribution into a shared experience. Conversations flowed from the screen to the stage, from the table to the audience, creating opportunities for artists and attendees to connect beyond the work itself. The response from the community affirmed a desire for more intentional spaces of this kind, laying the foundation for Ubuntu to grow into an ongoing series dedicated to celebrating Black voices and fostering meaningful relationships through culture.
